History

The INHA was the brainchild of a group of parents, all of whom had experienced a preterm birth and with varying outcomes. The founding members identified gaps in parental education pre-conceptually, disparities in the level of care that they received ante-natally and post delivery and recognized a need within the Irish healthcare system for the formation of a collaborative platform that allowed for all of the stakeholders in the neonatal field to combine forces and expertise to bring about system changes that will improve the standard of care offered to families in Ireland.

The families have been actively advocating in Ireland since 2006 and on December 23rd 2013, the Irish Neonatal Health Alliance was formally incorporated as a company limited by guarantee.
